Let your voice be heard! You’re invited to join your fellow tourism partners from across the state of Missouri for the “2018 Capitol Days for Tourism” on February 21-22, 2018 in Jefferson City. This is the key time of the year when our industry members join together in our state’s Capitol Building.
There has never been a greater need for the tourism industry to come together to let legislators know the importance of tourism funding to Missouri’s overall economic health and to express how much we value and need their support.
EDUCATION WORKSHOP: From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21st, we’ll be providing an education workshop, “Legislatively Speaking.” We’ll provide attendees with 1) an overview of Missouri’s budget and the current state of Missouri’s economy, 2) a panel discussion regarding legislative priorities and talking to make your Capitol visit more effective. and 3) an update from the Missouri Division of Tourism. The cost for this workshop is only $25 per person, which includes a box lunch.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING: From 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21st, Missouri Travel Council’s Board of Directors will meet.
AWARDS EVENT: From 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21st, Missouri Travel Council’s bi-annual Awards Event will take place. Awards categories include the Gil Elmore Service Award, the Division of Tourism Award, the Friend of MTC Award, the Kay Schwinke Education Award, the Legislative Service Award and the President’s Award. The cost for this event is only $25 per person.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST: From 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22nd, the Pancake Breakfast will take place on the third floor of the Capitol Rotunda. The cost for the Pancake Breakfast is only $20 per person, which includes breakfast.
CAPITOL SECURITY: Please note that there is a new security system in place at the Missouri Capitol this year. If anyone comes in before 7:00 a.m. they must go through the East Guard Shack / Garage entrance and will be subject to a search. After 7:00 a.m., people can come in the South (Carriage Way) or West entrances, and go through metal detectors.

When making your reservation, mention that the room block is for Capitol Days for Tourism / MTC.
