Job Description Must Apply Online at: Mission: The primary focus of this position will be to manage the sales function for BSD’s Tourism Innovation division. This detail-oriented position will provide leadership and supervision as well as assure the continued, profitable growth of the Gateway Arch and Riverboats at the Gateway Arch through sales and services to tour groups, industry groups, and other group markets including corporate and conventions. This position will generate new business and creating relationships by traditional and non-traditional means, including attending tourism and sales-related trade shows. Essential Outcomes: Develop and implement sales-related policies, plans and procedures for BSD’s Tourism Innovation division. Consult with Executive and Senior Management to maintain open communication and smooth coordination of sales activities with other functional areas including operating divisions. Serve as sales liaison with external (i.e. Explore St. Louis, Missouri Division of Tourism, St. Louis Sports Commission, Missouri Valley Conference, etc.) and internal (i.e. National Park Service, Gateway Arch Park Foundation, Jefferson National Parks Association, etc.) contacts to create and maintain current and future opportunities and partnerships leading to increased revenue. Provide outstanding service to new and existing partners including helping to develop and execute ideas for expanding clientele across all markets. Work with the sales and internal/external marketing teams to support planning, budgeting, production of creative assets, deployment, delivery, and performance evaluation for all aspects of sales plans. Serve as the Sales Manager for the corporate, convention, tour, and travel markets to generate group reservations for the various products and event offerings at the Gateway Arch, Riverboats at the Gateway Arch, and Gateway Arch National Park. Analyze sales results and recommend strategies to create growth tactics for all targeted markets. Assist with the preparation of an annual sales plans as well as corresponding budgets. Actively participate in strategy meetings and external networking events including attending industry trade shows such as American Bus Association, Student Youth Travel Association, and National Travel Association. Serve as the point of contact for and follow up with trade show clients from American Bus Association, Student Youth Travel Association, National Tour Association, and other organizations. Serve as lead sales representative for River City Music Days program. Assure that all group reservations are handled according to established policies and procedures. Provide leadership, supervision, and establish agreed upon performance objectives for full-time (Sales Manager & Sales Coordinator) and part-time staff (Intern). Provide feedback to full-time and part-time staff on a regular basis and conduct annual performance appraisals.
