Job Description Explore St. Louis is seeking an Event Coordinator / Event Manager to act as a liaison between clients and facility departments for events held in the convention center and the Dome at America’s Center. This position reports directly to the Director of Event Management. Some Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this position include the following: • Conduct site visits and tours for contracted clients and ancillary service contractors. • Review contract forms and service needs as requested by the customer. • Gather, analyze and input all details regarding the event with the ultimate goal of producing Event Specs which are used by the facility team to execute the event. • Conduct pre-event meetings. • Act as “Manager on Duty” during facility events. • Work with clients during events to investigate conditions and prevent potential issues. • Work with client and facility departments during events to ensure that events run smoothly from the perspective of the client, the facility, and the public. • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

This position reports directly to the Vice President of Event Services and is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of the Event Management Department. The department is responsible for all coordination between the client/client’s contractors and the America Center’s in-house departments and service contractors. Some Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this position include the following: • Directly supervise the Event Management Department staff. • Assign events to Event Managers/Coordinators and coordinate department work schedules accordingly. May act as an Event Manager for events with special requirements or important impact. • Develop and maintain an America’s Center event technical information book. • Interface with organizational staff and facility contractors on event-related issues to ensure that all aspects of the event are running efficiently, and that the overall client / guest experience is successful. • Develop and implement the annual event management budget. Develop revenue projections for furnishings and equipment. Direct and coordinate activities of the department for attainment of fiscal year goals and objectives. • Develop event guidelines for use by departments for estimating expenses. Compile facility event expenses for entertainment/sporting events, and for clients who request estimated expenses during the sales process. • Travel as required. • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
